Thanks. The tires weren't that hard, actually--all I had to do was repeatedly draw traces in the basic shape of the shadows and indents on them, and then it came out looking that way. The only real problem was putting the sand on the flat part of the tire, but even then it was pretty simple. A bit time consuming, but pretty simple.
