What's that brah, you need more Meggys? No, because you're kind of burned out on her after all of the attention she got and Meggy's Destiny being a poorly written franchise-wide character assasination of a movie?

...Yeah okay fair enough. But have some Meggs anyway.

1) So as it turns out there ARE a few Inklings left in Inkopolis who don't hate those smelly meatbags out of the fucking blue for reasons no sane human actually understands. Demi, being a rising starlet in the REAL Splatoon universe, is one of them. She's a big fan of Meggy and, while exploring the outside Kingdom, decides to get her autograph. And she WON'T sell it on eBay for tons of money later! Toni might, though...

Demi: Oh thank you, Meggy, miss! I'm a big fan!

Meggy: No problem! It's nice to know I still got supporters back home.

2) Oh hey, speaking of back home. Hello Killer Ink Team Leader. How are you today? Grown a personality yet? Actually, right now she's flat for a rather different reason.

Leader: Someone get this fatass off of me!

Merio: Moving on the ground, moving on the ground~

Leader: AAH! Stupid Human! Where the hell is my "team"?!

Burning in a pile over there, where they deserve to be.

Leader: ...Oh.

"But what about Winter?" That's my version. This is the "canon" version. In quotes because we're never seeing this placeholder-turned-character ever again, so whatever.

3) Later on, Meggy and Tari sit down to play some video games. Their session runs long into the night, mainly thanks to Tari wanting to grind for some super cool stuff in the game. Perhaps they played an hour or two longer than Meggy could handle. Not that you can blame her after the last six months.

Tari: Alright! One more game and we should be set! ...Maybe two. Or three. Four, maybe. What do you think, Meggy? ...Meggy?

Meggy: [snore]

Tari: ...[giggle] Alright, tomorrow is good. [turns off the game and covers Meggy with a blanket] Rest well, Champion. ^^

4) And I was gonna end it there, but I remembered something I made. Something to celebrate Meggy's character development. Even had some text on it, but it's not on this version. I'll link the Twitter version with the text after all this. So for now have her sitting by the coast, enjoying the breeze.

I really do enjoy Meggy as a character. From her strengths to her weaknesses, her flaws, her character arc. She could have so easily been just another generic Splatoon OC (she certainly looked the part), but they stuck to it and moved her forward into something wonderful. SMG4 has proven they can make incredible original characters with no relation to the Mario cast, and yet they work so well within it. Meggy as we know her now, she's the latest in a long line of good SMG4 characters like Tari, Saiko, Axol...that ironically, started with Inkling!Meggy so long ago. It just sucks that the path from then to now has been cluttered with some utterly painful experiences, from the slapdash pacing and poor writing of the Anime Arc to the negative amounts of fucks given towards anyone in Meggy's Destiny. I will NEVER forget nor forgive how disgustingly awful the Killer Inks were considering what they stand for. I know they could have done better. They HAVE. It's called Meta Runner. Maybe they just wanted to end all the Splatoon stuff due to pissbabies like myself complaining about every inaccuracy with how the Splatoon stuff was treated. Maybe I'm to blame for Leader. Who can say. But to get caught up on the past in luie of the present, that's not the guy I wanna be. I've seen that happen with Sonic, I KNOW how destructive that can be. So for now, I guess we can just sit here and see what Luke and Kevin have in store for us next.
