Argh, I wish I wasn't so lazy. At least I got it done. And well, seemingly.

The reason behind this is because I'm interested in that new DMC: Devil May Cry thing. It was a reboot (or remake. Apparantly, that's the actual term), then it was alternate universe and I've lost track of what it is now. People say it's a waste of the title, but that's nostailga speaking. From a guy who's never played DMC before, the demo had great promise (I know it got released in January, but it's £40. No thanks) and the plot seems good enough with the gameplay to match. Makes a change from shooting Russians and then getting an earful from that crap Spec Ops piddle all the bloody time, at least.

The characters were an interesting standing too. They were different, but the same, as you do. I'm aware Dante was a smug ponce and Vergil was an arsehole. REmake!Dante is LESS of an ponce and Vergil is MORE of an arsehole. The characters were the same, but distant. Get what I'm saying?

The reason that is related to this is because of that infamous "Sonic 2014" remake thing they were apparantly planning. They've already remade the series, however, and you know which one that was (hint: It's the one with the loading and the IT'S NO USE). And they seem to be doing well, so I can't see WHY they'd want to REboot/Remake. But that got me thinking: Sonic is one for smug jokes and the odd parody here and there. So perhaps Sonic Team should take this rumor, throw in a little DMC and voila: Sonic REboot/Sonic Remake.

The characters are fashioned around the same style as black-haired Dante: different, but the same. And darker. Oh, so darker. From left to right.

SONIC: The main hero. He wakes up one day in a field with no memory, no recognition of his location and a large messege carved into his arm (it's his left on the other side, hence why you can't see it). He finds out that he's in some sort of dictatorship ruled by Dictator Sparky and he's part of the sterotypical resistence group to stop him. He's an emo, angsty, skinny and able to hold large swords and gunz for his own gary-stu use. So...yes, the typical Reboot/remake character.

TAILS: Next up, the forgotten friend replaced by another OP character. Tails is instead the second in command of the Jungle Zone (NOTE: There are 4 Zones in the area: Desert Zone, Jungle Zone, City Zone and The Mainframe, not to mention DS's lair) and is the tribe's mechanic, or at the very least trying to be: he takes apart a camara, but can't put it back together. He helps keep their leader sane: Sally (there's a perfectly good reason for that choice, just don't know what it is) has become schizophrenic and over-dependent on anti-depressents, so she cares for Tails like her own son to keep her spirits up (Archie threw the whole Aunt Sally thing out the window for more angst, so I might as well pick it up).

KNUCKLES: He's a bit like the Pyro from Team Fortress 2 this time around. This means he's happily going around, killing CSF troops and robots without a single care in the world, if only because he's too doped up to realize what he's doing. Also, instead of his normal gloves with spikes, I decided to spice it up with dual steam-charged power fists. Why? Because I watched the second Ben 10 Ommniverse episode and one of the aliens had an (organic) version of this and I thought it looked very cool. Notice the movie!hat and the poor quality: Knuckles isn't my favourite.

ROSE: A Reboot always need that one woman who was once strong and is now a screaming, sobbing lump of sexism despite her previous actions. Quite a few examples now-a-days (coughTombRaider2013MetroidOtherMunconvincingcough). And her story is...odd. At the start of the whole kuffuffle, the CSF set up a bomb that will rewrite Sonic's history so he stays Classic forever. They decide to kill off any characters just to make sure. Amy is their first (and last) victim, as she gets a sawblade to the face. However, the powers that be (aka Sonic Team) decide it's not her time and revive her, although with no vision so she doesn't chase after Sonic. Hey, I've always thought Sonic Team had a very weak grasp on Western Women, so I might as well send them over the edge for the story (and SCIENCE...). She spends her days moping about Sonic (unaware he's normally a few good feet from her), but she still plays her part in the battle by sensing incoming robot placements.

CREAM: Well...I've nothing to say except she's Tails' friend and Vanilla is looking for her in the Jungle Zone. Next!

SHADBOT: There's always that one guy who turns out to be a robot. Even if they're not introduced as such in the story, they will. Soon. And as Shadow's history from Adventure 2 to 2006 made for some...cluttered reading, that makes him the perfect one for that role. So yes, this time he IS the android, fresh off the production line. Well, I say fresh: he's been in some mighty tough scrapes over the hypothetical years he's been fighting Dictator Sparky. His "skin" has been peeled off, showing the oiled and battered machinery and his AI has been glitched from the countless missions he's been sent on. He's quite robo-senile, a bit like Metal Sonic, thinks he's something he's clearly not. A good little detail here is the fact his scowl is painted on his metal. Seriously, has the guy ever tried SMILING?

ROUGE: My 2nd personal favourite, now she's wearing something along the lines of decent. Anyway, she fills the partner role, not really supposed to be there but there anyway for the comic relief or the companionship and the inevitable Big Damn Heroes moment (after all, a parody of a reboot/remake should tick all the boxes without irony). She's Sonic's partner on the many missions they go through and becomes the also inevitable love interest. But more on that soon.

SILVER: Remember I said Rose was to fill that sexist slot? Turns out I was wrong. Silver fills that one. Why? Why the perma-broken arm? Why the broken mind? Why female? Answer to all of those: Silver has no respect. From fans or outsiders and certainly not from me. But I noticed people were saying Silver was better off as a female in the first place, and I'm much more on board with that. True, I could've made her a female all her life, but where's the fun in that? So it's a male forced into a female body and she's having a hard time adjusting to it. She's quiet and shy, but she still has her PSK (right?) and thus enough motivation can turn her into a glass cannon. Yayz? Yayz.

And finally, the best till last...

BLAZE: The only villan I can be arsed to draw right now, she's Dictator Sparky's second hand woman, general of his armies and an all around smartarse. She's a scientist too, and one that can certainly hold her own in a fight. If the usual Scientist-Protector 9000 (aka a gun) doesn't work, those sleeves have super sharp claws she can use to get dirty (or to open bottles. Depends on how productive that day has been). All females working for Dictator Sparky cover their mouths with something (with the exception of Acension; REboot Tikal) and it's not known why, though many think it's an Alliance Mark (shows where you're from. Hence why Sonic and the others have black marks under their left eye and Tails and Cream have that green circle). I'm not sure if she defects to the other side, but there's always one, so...

And she too ends up as his love interest, along with Rose, Rouge, Sally and a few others. Because the wars that exist don't really need to. After all it's Sonic the Hedgehog we're talking about here. He'll probably save time and have all of them...ooh god that sounds odd.
