I looked up Kaylin & Nightshade and stumbled upon your illustrations. I love them all so much! Why can't we have an Elantra graphic novel?! *sigh*
But, seriously, your work is amazing! The detail, coloring, and the way you use the whole frame is amazing. And you captured this scene perfectly. Him finally showing and her and her wanting and not wanting at the same time. Wow!

I always love how your drawings depict a scene rather than just characters doing something; there are a lot of details such as the half-eaten meal on the table. It definitely helps to set the mood for a drawing. I also really like the poses (such as the girl, Kaylin I presume, having to stand on her toes a bit) and the details on their outfits!

Sometimes, if I lack enough information about what has happened in a scene, than it can look a bit empty, but if the info is there, I happily try to integrate every last detail, so as to tell an even fuller story. Oh my gosh, more Nightshade (& Kaylin)! That's so amazing! Your work is as wonderful as always! I really love your boots! And all the small details in the background. The candelabra, the grain of the wooden table... those small details make the picture, though it is only a cell-shading, really lively. I really love the natural ease of the poses of your persons, it looks real. Though it is a rather quiet scene it conveys the tension, Kaylin must be feeling, but also some kind of desire, that Nightshade might or might not have. Keep your great work up!

And your Nightshade/Kaylin kissing scene reminds me of how I shipped these two when I was a first-time reader~ Admittedly, my passion for this pairing ebbed remarkably as I progressed into the later installments of this series
