HDL is an SMS-acronym for 'Hab dich lieb', which is one way to say 'I love you' in Germany. 'Hab dich lieb' is also used for close friends or relatives not only for Love in romatical sense.IDA is not used that often, it's the acronym for 'Ich dich auch', which means, in this case, 'I love you too."

Well it is an old Germanic name after all.
The Scandinavians can be a bit more relaxed about that stuff than us Germans, so I suppose that's why for some years these names weren't that popular.
It is actually a typical " greatgrandma"-name for me, like Wilma, Frieda, Greta, Mimi etc... (means women born between 1900 and the 1920ies).
but these names actually get more propular in the last years, so perhaps someday we've gott less Lenas, Celines and Annas and more Gretas and Idas again.
I like Ida. it short, and has a nice sound, I also like the meaning. "the working woman/girl" or "the wise woman/girl".
it closes the circle, since my first name also means "wisdom".

one of my best friends name is Wilma, which I suppose means golden helmet. my name is Lovisa, which means warrior maiden something... yep xD
wow Greta and Ida is not popular here anymore, well Ida kinda is, if you count the people that are named Ida, but you barley name your newborn Ida anymore. the most popular here I think is Alice and Adam

Als ich mein erstes handy hatte, war ich schon ΓΌber 20 und SMS schreiben hat bei mir echt gedauert bis ich das prinzip kapiert habe..XD
ich muss dazu sagen ich hasse SMS schreiben und telefonieren eigentlich, da ich lieber mit den leuten direkt von Angesicht zu angesicht zu kommuniziere...aber ich wohn momentan sehr weit von meiner Familie weg, sodass so eine art der Kommunikation sich nicht vermeiden lΓ€sst. Und die nachricht, dass man liebgehabt wird, bekommt doch gerne. :3
