OMG! ;v;
You are an absolutely GODDESS!!! ;v;
I am definitely going to have to go home...at some point XD And definitely break this toot down step by step!
I use MS Paint for everything but if I can get through these I bet I can start using Sai more! ;v;

You do all your pixelling with MS PAINT?? How do you do it? That's really impressive ;o;
You'll be glad to know you CAN do pixel art in Sai c: it has what's called a "Legacy Pen" that just behaves like a hard pixel brush. I've seen a few artists make cool pixel art in Sai!
I'm glad you found my toot helpful though! ;v; 90% of my work is done in Sai so all my toots will be on how I personally use Sai, so maybe I can help you! 8D

Yes I do all my sprites in MS Paint and only use the mouse track pad that comes built into a laptop xD I have no tablet nor regular mouse...but honestly I find it easier that way *is set in my ways xD*
Honestly with MS Paint I sketch with the pencil tool and then go back and clean up the lines I'll be using and erase the rest.
As to Sai, I will definitely have to look into purchasing the program and follow ALL of your wonderful tutorials! Because quite honestly, I believe your toots are the EASIEST I have ever seen and they are organized where all the information is so quick to look up and find <3 I am so happy you decided to create tutorials for Sai!

Aw, I'm glad you think my toots are easy to follow ;v; I did my best to explain everything so there was no confusion (but at the same time I was worried I sounded too patronizing XD)
I'll create as many toots as I can! Only issue is that they take some time to do P:

To be honest your toots are some of the easiest I've found <3 And I don't believe you were patronizing at all...but that could be because I know you as a friend <3 But regardless, once I can get the funds for Sai I do believe I'm gonna convert to it verses MS Paint xDĀ
Oh! I know toots can take a while and I love the patience you have for creating them!Ā

Yey that makes me very happy! ;v;
Thankfully SAI is actually very cheap in terms of good art programs. It's priced yen so it'll depend on the exchange rate, but when I bought my version it was only $60 c: then you get to keep it forever~ (better than renting photoshop LOL)
I'll always be here if you need help with things! I love to help and teach even though I don;t teach well 3

This is the site you buy it from :L www.systemax.jp/en/sai/ I know it looks super shady but it's legit, I promise. It's worked for me and everyone else I know that has SAI~
And it's even better at the moment! According to the site, currency conversion means it'll only cost $45~

I have it saved in my bookmarks as I'm on my phone right now sadly ;-; But I'm definitely gonna look into it when I get to my computer again c: Thank you so much for showing me the site ā„

I wonder if i'd be able to figure out how to do this with Photoshop x3Ā

MATic-Imaging In reply to Jessusxo [2016-12-02 03:23:59 +0000 UTC]
I'm fairly sure it's possible XD
On my version of Photoshop (Elements 8) it has the increment and invert options but not the ability to group layers. But I'm sure the more advanced versions of PS can c:

Okay, this is a definite read for me when I get home, and is that sai you use? Going to see if i can translate it into gimp(if its even possible) since I havent gotten the hang of sai and no longer have a sub to photoshop lol. But this is no doubt going to be helpful and im really happy youre doing toots š

Yes I use Paint Tool Sai c: I've never tried Gimp before but I heard it's a lot like Photoshop, ad I know photoshop can do it so... possibly? Heh.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you like my toots! ;v; I want to try help out where I can! ā„

I've used this technique before, but one by one. Like, capture the hair, color, then the cloth, color, and so on.
But this way, is much more efficient! And the first time I heard about "increment". It's not clear to me though. Does increment increase it's size by 1 pixel, or what?

MATic-Imaging In reply to VirexialisLight [2016-12-01 12:18:09 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I've seen that selection technique where they capture each part separately. I can see how it'd work better for certain art styles c:
And yes it does! I do mention that in the tutorial :L each time you increment it'll increase the overall selection by 1 pixel.
