...we are always our own harshest critics, Mats. You have a unique point of view, with the things you shoot. It is very minimalistic and beautiful.

You're so right, self-criticism isn't always very productive. I'm really glad that you think so highly of my photography, it's very encouraging. Thanks again, Jessica!!

Self -criticism is important if it is done with clear eyes. I do think one of these days you may need to go out and challenge yourself. But only when you are ready.

It took me a long time.Β  And I still desire to do some street photography, but am too scared of peoples reactions. It will happen someday. I think...lol.

Have a good weekend, Mats.

Same thing with me, I really would like to be able to just go out among people and take a lot of street photos, but it's just too intimidating. Thanks for all the support, Jessica, wish you a really nice weekend as well!

One of these days we will!! I watch photography stuff on youtube sometimes, not often at all, but there is this photography kid--Rev I think his name is. Anyway, he lives in Hong Kong and he just goes down the streets snapping photos of people!! It is fun to watch him.

I have my 20 year class reunion from high school. Do you have them in Sweden??

I'll check him out, really have to get over my fear of street photography. Yes, we do have reunions here in Sweden as well. But it was something like ten years ago now for me. I walked into this room and was shocked to see a bunch of old people in there. Then I realized something might have happened to me as well... Hope you have a nice time, it's usually very interesting!

One of these days we both will, lol.

Haha! Old people, eh? I saw some of those as well, besides the lady in the mirror.

One interesting thing that shocked me was this fellow from school had remarried a woman 25 years OLDER than he. I was just baffeled about it the entire evening. but who is to say where love is found? Not me.

But the food was nice and the music. I did go home early. It was a very long day and that part of my life is... It was a few too many yesterdays ago.

I hope your weekend was interesting too. lol...

25 years really sounds like a lot. But as you say, you never know with love. It works in really strange ways sometimes.

The really strange thing about meeting up people from your past is the sheer amount of feelings and memories it brings up, at least for me. I was invited to a new years party a few years ago with school friends and talked all night to people that almost felt like some kind of weird ghosts from the past, took me days to recover!

Yes and yes. Love is perfectly illogical in logic driven world.

Indeed!! You are very correct. Sometimes they are good and sometimes not so good. But I was very nice in school and well liked. I didn't fall into the drama that a lot of other people enjoyed. No time for that rubbish.

It sounds like you had a great time!!And lol...a few days, huh?
I was invited to a Halloween party while I was there. Maybe I will go, maybe not. We shall see.

Don't know if that New Year's eve was so great, it was mostly weird! I was always "nice" in school as well. There's a thin line between being nice and not standing up for yourself, for me it has always been a bit too easy to slip over to the nice side even when I did myself harm in the process. Painful and important lessons, don't know if I've learned them completely yet.

Weird can still be good. I say I'm weird.

I think you are still nice!! As for not standing up for yourself...sigh...confrontation isn't easy for some people. My grandma told me something while I was growing up--if I don't like and love myself, who will? And also that I have to learn to not put everyone else ahead of me--she often reminded me that I was important too. Β Alas, I have still not learned that lesson well. Β Sometimes I find myself helping too much, spreading myself too thin, etc. Β

Do you have siblings? I was the oldest of six and that surely pulled me into the caretaker role very early in life.

Thanks, Jessica. I think you're really nice too!

I have a sister, ten years older than me. My brother - who was twelve years older than me - passed away almost ten years ago.Β Oldest of six sounds like something I could never really imagine, I guess.Β So I had it the other way around, there was so much time between me and my siblings that they almost belonged to another generation.Β But I wound up in the same place as you regardless of that, in many ways I became the caretaker and peacemaker in the family for many years. But now it's just my sister and me left from the original family, we are very close. And my three kids of course, but they are all in their twenties now and have their own lives.

Thank you, Mats.

Ah...And I can't imagine being the youngest with so many years in-between. But I can fantasize..heehee. There were days I very much wished to be an only child!!! I have three brothers and two sisters. There are so many of us sometimes it is too many. Until recently we all lived within one hour drive. But now my brother has moved very far away. Β

Do you live close to your children? My oldest is in college and still comes home a few times a week. And he doesn't bring his dirty laundry!!Β

Oh, and you have excellent English spelling and context down. Are you cheating with google? LOL. teasing. How did gain such a firm grasp of this language, other than with a lot of hard work?

I did!! But I was on my phone, lol. And there really was no way I have the patience to reply letter by letter with one finger.
But a reply will be coming soon. We had a long day today over at a Renaissance Faire. Guess what? I couldn't do it! I couldn't just take photos of random people. Even though I did catch a guy shooting my daughter an I, unapologetically. She is stunning, though.

It's so weird, people snap cameras at others all the time and don't seem to think much of it. Sounds like you made some kind of progress, though, maybe next time!
