Finally and at long last, I'm calling this finished.I'm happy with it on the whole, especially the metal end and the filament but due to some issues with parts of the paper developing a weird texture, I'm not happy with the main section of the bulb area but it was kind of out of my hands.
Anyway, not sure how many hours it took in total but I'd guess maybe 80 ish.
I'd like to give a huge thanks to for giving me permission to draw from their reference photo.
I love how the light source of this picture really helps to capture the intricacies of the details, casts the subtle shadow of the bulb on the surface on which it sits and creates great contrast on the with the highlights and shadows on the filament and metal parts in particular. It's also great how the lightbulb is the theme of the picture but the lightsource comes from something else.

Oh my lord! I'll be serious, I looked at this and thought it was photography.! I read the description to be flabbergasted! The shading, the lighting.. oh my lord! The details pop off my computer screen! I'm trying to be picky here, and I literally see nothing to pick out! Spectacular! The colors in this (black and white, clearly) also make the drawing even more magnificent. I'm hoping you consider becoming a big time artist, because a drawing of this.. oh my lord I can't even come up with a word to describe how amazing this is. Speechless! Keep up the good work!

Can I ask what texture of paper you used for this? A bit odd to ask I know, haha, I am just extremely picky with my paper and will spend half an hour feeling over different ones before I come to one I'm happy with.

I'm not the artist, but I am attempting the same photo myself. I am using Canson Bristol plate (smooth).
Most high-end graphite artists use smooth Bristol or smooth watercolor paper. I personally like the Bristol as it is smoother.

This drawing proves that traditional art is efficacious everytime and can be similar, in your case of course, to a photography.
