Back in the early 40s, Superman didn't have many supervillains. He fought crooks, Nazis, war profiteers, and the odd mad scientist, but superpowered villains were rare. However, over at Timely comics (which was later renamed Marvel comics) there was a character who would have been a perfect foil for Superman. Prince Namor, the Sub-mariner was more a hot-headed anti-heor than a hero. He eventually sided with the Allies against the Nazis, but before that he had the unfortunate habit of invading New York. It's a shame these two never met, it would have been fun.

Namor was created by Bill Everett and is the property of Marvel comics.

Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster and is the property of DC comics.
