Description
Another adventure in watercolored pencils, this one came out a little better. I do like the gritty quality you can get with any watercolor, it gives it a nice texture.Aslo, be prepared to see more of these two, I really want to play around with some funny stuff involving them in the future.

Their postures seem very similar, almost too similar. I find it hardΒ to believe both of them are equally enjoying the conversation if they are talking at the same time. Don't get me wrong this picture is good for watercolor, but one of the characters should be listening while the other is talking in order for it to be more realistic.

Awesome pic. Really glad to see more people doing pics of Soarin' and Spitfire. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing stuff along the lines of SoarinFire, but that's just a personal preference, I'm just glad to hear you'll be doing more of them period. Even pics of them as good friends is awesome (and maybe Soarin' as not a complete goofball lol).
As to the picture itself, I really like the character you've injected here. It's clear Soarin' is touting his horn here, while Spitfire (being her snarky self) is more than likely ready with a one liner to take the stallion down a peg. The colors are vibrant and and I really like the facial structure and poses for the two. The only thing I'll say is that Soarin' seems to be a smidge shorter than Spitfire, when typically stallions are depicted as a bit taller. Not sure if it was deliberate or not. Overall an awesome picture. I look forward to seeing more of these two.

Anyways coming from the fact I love watercolors and colored pencils. I can't stand the mixed medium so this impresses me greatly. My question to you is how did you blend the colors together over the paper. Did you work like you normally would with colored pencils and then add water or did you add highlighted lines and smooth them out with water. The lighting on this is very well focused and clean cut that I can see really clean white in the center of the eyelids.
