Trying something new here! I've been wanting to try playing with watercolor pencils for a while just to see how they are. I figure they'd be great for if I'm out and about and wanting to color something quick.The pencils are....Tricky. They work very well, but you don't have a lot of flexibility (Of course, I also only had 12 colors) and some can be finicky. I do want to try some more watercolor stuff with actual watercolors, but these are definitely something great to keep in the bag for "field work."
The grey came out a little darker than I was hoping as I was using a black pencil and bleeding it out. That pencil gets dark fast, I discovered.

Looks good.
I like the way the colors blend, but they aren't quite as good as watercolor paints in that category, obviously.

I think the colors came out nice. I never heard of a watercolor pencil, how do they work?

Thanks! Watercolor pencils are colored pencils that turn into watercolors when you use a brush and water with them. It's essentially roughly penciling in the paint, then smoothing it out into a watercolor with water. It's plenty fun!
