Great color! Those tones are really tough to get out of an electric kiln. Very impressive.

Natural aesthetic forms are totally amazing to study. Georgia O'Keefe's work and some others (I can't think of any other examples, used natural forms like plants and such as inspiration. I've done or am working on a few pieces along these veins. Your work is an incredible piece. I see a pitcher plant in there and maybe a jack-in-the-pulpit? That sharp edge in the photo reminds me of an actual pouring pitcher too ^_^
Those orange colors just pop too. Did you soda fire it? Or use reduction? Great job.

Actually it is a raku glaze fired in an electric kiln with airbrushed underglazes to give a deeper richness to the colors. I fired to cone 04. Thanks for all of the comments I am flattered...

I love it. I was wondering a few days ago about what would happen to a raku glaze in an electric kiln now that I have access to it (sort of the cost is a bit much). What I really like is that you managed a gloss glaze without too much globby gloss. And I wouldn't have thought to airbrush with underglazes - that is a fantastic idea. Our studio made a switch out very recently from ^10 reduction to electric firing at ^6 and ^10 oxidation, and I'm totally hoping the underglazes and glazes will have this sort of much much lighter, less carbon look like this piece. Again great job and pleasure to meet you

What a beautiful piece! The warmth of the colors and the flowing lines represent the human form very well.
