Does it "work"? As in you can simulate the gears to "move" in a way that it "does" move the clock?

It works in the sense that all the gears turn in the right direction at the right speed in the right order, and that the minute hand moves 1/60th of the clock every rotation the minute hand makes, and the hour hand does the same for the minute. It doesn't work in that the second hand constantly rotates instead of "ticking" and that it moves along with the gears at a proper pace, and so it wouldn't necessarily keep perfect time.
