Description
Years after having last completed a coloured version, I at last upload a drawing of Erika, my most treasured and precious OC. Erika originally was conceived as a character to be the mother of Ellissa, back before Espeons were ever even localized in the United States. At that time, she was only considered to be an Eevee... so, a few changes were made after Gold and Silver originally came out in the year 2000.

What Erika means to me... That alone isn't so much the question, as much as it is the meaning behind her. Erika represents something more to me that words cannot ever describe. I first created her with the intentions of being Ellissa's mother, and that role rapidly changed as I began working on the story of her father, Matt. As time went by, I became incredibly attached to Erika, and only told a select number of people who this character was, and why she meant a lot to me (despite the fact I rarely ever drew her, something that only I know the answer to, to this very day).

All things aside, Erika is an endearing character, and actually has her own story separate from Matt's (although eventually the two's stories do in fact meet to create the main canon the majority of my characters, including my own 'sona Matt, come from). Her story, unlike his, is a more heart-felt story. I designed her story to have the same emotional impact that readers would have reading Matt's story... and maybe something a bit different. (I never wanted "more," but rather "more of the same, but something different," if that makes any sense. I was very particular and picky about ensuring both boys and girls had equal opportunity for spotlight time, roles in the story, and time for chatter.) Erika's stories told the story of a young Eevee (part of a triplet) who grew up the first part of her life doing showbiz and Broadway, before ultimately making the decision to sever ties with her family and go out on her own adventure. Unfortunately, making such a life-altering decision at such a young age had huge drastic emotional consequences for her, and for little Erika it would mean dramatic measures to make her way home.
Erika's story goes on for quite a long period of her life, up to the days where she meets Matt, and starts a family with him. The rest beyond that point remains a secret.

Name: Erika (Later versions of her contain the last name "Delacey," but I haven't fully decided on that as a last name yet)
Age: 8 ("Erika- The Tale of A Runaway"), 12-25 ("Erika- The Tale of A Runaway II")
Personality: It's difficult for me to actually place where she would be. It was always difficult to accurately portray her for others to know how she truly acted. She is very gentle, considerate, gives you that warm-fuzzy feeling, optimistic, level-headed, and likes to think outside the box.
