Request for x3Omg I love how this turned out... .o. FIRST time using watercolor in like, three years. I'm hoping to improve my skills with watercolor so that I can start incorporating it into my design. x3
Alex waited forever for his request. x3 After much thought, here is what he came up with. It was my first time drawing wings in I don't know how long (feathers more or less), and I'm pretty pleased with this. MANY HOURS WENT INTO MAKING THIS!

x3 Why I don't believe you have, my dear! I'm glad you like the colouring though. I really could use some pointers and some practice when using watercolours. I'm afraid I haven't really had much practice with them. Pity, since the soft and subtle effect they create really does add a distinguished and oddly delicate appearance to it. I've seen a bit of your work, and may I assume you've had experience with it? What might you recommend with watercolours? I've only got a small set of watercolour pencils--twelve in a box, really. I'm not sure if I will jump aboard the watercolour wagon, but I would at least like to try my hand at it on a few more projects. Any tips or tricks of the trade you've discovered or learned?

I'm no watercolour expert, my friend Holly is though, and I can ask her if she has any better tips than me. I however, an occasionally fairly proficient with watercolour pencils. One tip I told my friend Jess (which you probably already know) is colour diagonally then apply the water at 90 degree to whatever angle you coloured in so it blends better. Also I tend to wipe off my brush very quickly before I put it to the pencil, or you get really really pale areas that you can't go over and strengthen. If you build it up in layers, and are methodical in your colouring it tends to work best. Also put as much or as little pencil on as you want to get a brighter/subtler colour. That's fairly generic stuff but I hope it helps! I think I have a set of 24 watercolour pencils and that's done me fine. I have a set of 36 somewhere, but I can't find it...

Why thank you so much! ^^ I had a lot of fun experimenting with this piece. I gave it a shot at watercolor, and it was well worth the effort, I felt. I'm glad Alex requested this. :3 It was a brilliant idea that just exploded into color. >w< I have him to thank for the idea!
