The feel of the old knotted wood on his fingers, the gentle sway of the deck, the soft, salty sea breeze... Luffy smiled widely, leaning in against the battered mast and sighing contentedly.

He was home.

Turning to face the ocean, the perfect picturesque scenery completed by the setting sun reflecting off the rolling waves, served to complete Luffy’s serenity. Usopp and Chopper could be heard in the distance, laughing and playing; just as Zoro could be heard straining with his weights; and Sanji flirting with Nami and Robin. Another sigh, this time barely audible over the sound of gulls. Life on Merry is, and always has been... Perfection.

Luffy’s eyes slowly opened, revealing some unknown roof. The sound of the aquarium’s water pipes trickling slowly through the mainframe of the Thousand Sunny replaced the sound of the gulls, the storm raging outside substituting for the calamity of the sea, the shouting and screaming of Nakama struggling with the sales, crying out for the help and guidance of their Captain, in the place of playing and flirting.
Luffy wiped away a tear as he picked up his hat, slipping on his sandals and making his way to the deck.

Asdfghjkl because I don't think Usopp was the only one all torn up about it, okay?? ;n; Oh, and by the way... I still hate my scanner >: *Foreveralone*
