"I was working a case in the Third Rail. The frozen banana and the nosy little gnome in the red coat went off the to Glowing Sea to meet a mutant about a way in, so I decided to slip in for a drink. Maybe some bathtub gin to clear the old processors a bit. Maybe I could overhear something important in a hole like this. I used to love coming in here to hear her sing. Irma used to act jealous, but I knew she was only picking at me. I hadn't noticed the song had stopped until she walked up to me. 'Got a light?' she asked. Magnolia, the songstress of this dank hole-in-the-wall. She was too good for this place, and she knew it, but she loved it here. 'Here you are, Angel.' I said, holding up my lighter. It was the one Ellie got me for the day she unanimously declared was my birthday. It was old Nick's birthday, but we still used it all the same. I felt guilty letting Magnolia use it, but I wasn't sure why. 'Charlie giving you the cold shoulder?' she asked, looking over at the bar to the Mr. Handy named Whitechapel Charlie cleaning a glass. 'No more than usual. He said information was for paying customers only. Even so, what I did pay for wasn't much to go on.' I gave her my best smile, hoping it didn't creep her out. 'Say, hows about you be a good neighbor and let me in on this town's dirty secret?' I asked, in my smoothest voice. She laughed and let some smoke trail from her mouth. It looked like a ghost of another time, finally being set free from this wretched world. 'I can't give you much, darling. If you want the full story, you'll have to talk to my employer.' she said. I was hoping she wouldn't say that. I wanted to avoid Hancock on this trip to Goodneighbor, but it seemed to be destiny that he and I become friendly."
