Description One of my favorite places to walk around in Kyoto. Poncho-Cho street. A tiny path lined with restaurants, yakitori bars and frequented by Geisha. The beauty about this place is how it's lit. Kyoto gets light that's usually soft and allows for great pictures.

Shot with Canon 7D, 24-70L lens

Processed in Photoshop and Lightroom. Triple exposure of the same shot, contrast, selective color, black and white adjustments and then imported into Lightroom to apply presets that I've developed.

May I ask what the bamboo things are at the bottom of the building?

They basically keep things looking orderly and used to store stuff under them.Β  Makes the street look less messy.Β  ingenious actually.

They wet it right at sunset usually so it reflects the light.

It's odd that there is not a single person. Nice shot.

Thanks. You have to get there early in the morning to get this shot without people in it...either that or use a ND filter and take a long exposures.
