So, I was doodling at work one day... Thinking about a request I got on the Court Records forums... Then after under-laying most of it, I got home and COULDN'T HELP BUT FINISH IT.Is it sad to say that I look at it and can't stop grinning from ear to ear?

If I remember playing rise from the ashes rightly at the end of the trial edgeworth had something he wanted to say to lana but he never said it all he said was "I just want to say congratulations" I still wonder what he really wanted to say to her

HAHAH! I had a headcanon where this happened as well. Didn't design the kid, but I had some internal stories about Edgeworth becoming a politician which was bringing up all the bad dirt - like how he was married with Lana who was convicted and such. His kids (one girl and boy) were tots or such.
Making up stories is the best!

SERIOUSLY. I don't get Miles and Frannie together that much. But these 2 are both high prosecutors, they pretty much have the same attitude, they look adorable together and just has something in their appearances together that no other pairing has is what makes my favorite pairing with Edgey is Lana.

I MEAN SERIOUSLY, they would seek each other out as a source of mutual understanding, strength and hope - and then realize it was ALL A LIE AND MILES ALMOST DIES because he so sad. Seriously, I think that was the straw that broke the camels back. The evidence thing helped, but mostly in that it was tied to LANA having not told him all those years.Imagine your Girlfriend framing you before you were dating, falling in love with you and then NOT TELLING YOU. OUCH.

OH YEAH, I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID XD Yeah, let's do that! Yesterday, I got through the first scene of "forged evidence" committed by Lana. Edgey seemed so shocked, sad, and mad when he realized that and HECK, HE WROTE A RESIGNING LETTER AFTERWARDS. (But he crumpled it away ._.)
But really...resigning? What was in his mind when he was writing that letter? Whatever the reason, it would be a reasonable one. Or at least, for him. I'm assuming right now that he considered Lana to be the kind type so maybe that's why he was so frustrated. To have a crush on someone who betrayed you? Uh, yeah, we all know how Edgeworth hates those types. XD
And by dying, you mean resigning? Being a prosecutor was pretty much his life, and by resigning, that would, in a way, mean his life would be gone. That's the definition of "dead", right? o:

also I am writing a hugemongous fic that shares my theories on this and MilesMaya cause my theory includes Miles not being able to forgive Lana after this. and.. yeah stuff XD I actually wrote something of a novel on it here (but mostly in depth hereish , but if you haven't finished the case you may want to hold off on reading it.

RFTA is Rise From the Ashes, the bonus chapter that was added in the DS release of the first Ace Attorney game. Basically - Lana's case. The title of that episode is Rise From the Ashes, shortened in much of the fandom to RFTA. The other games about Phoenix were actually made prior to that case in the original print run, but that was put in to get people to buy the games for DS (or at least that's why it was put there in Japan. In the States we didn't get the games until the DS release, so to us it was just as is.) It still fits in that chronological order though, that's why they put it there. It helps to explain Miles' reasons for.. things (I don't know if you played all the games, so I don't know how much to divulge)

I just think Miles was a LIIIITLE over-upset with some things Lana said in that trial and I BETCHA there was some reason behind that, *hint hint* Totally a couple with his boss, legit.

lol. Yeah I noticed at the end when she was thanking him, and he just kinda froze up and was clearly uncomfortable. Of course, they say in the game that he never liked praise and attention for his achievements, but he looked really uncomfortable when she was thanking him, lol.

There were other little things too, like during the trial. I mean Edgeworth over reacts sometimes but I felt like one or two of those times in RFTA he over reacted for .. kinda 'no reason' - not that it was actually "no reason" just that the reason didnt seem strong enough, unless there was tension between him and Ms. Skye BUM BUM BUUUMMMMM

lol. Yeah I saw a lot of subtle things that suggested something was going on between them. But I do think they'd be good together, they think sort of the same way.

They also have one major thing in common, which I think, given the close relation of their employment... would make them somewhat gravitate to each other for support.
They say IN GAME that Lana was Mile's chief, but also his mentor, alongside von Karma. So while Miles was held to strict rigidity and contempt under Manfred; Lana, as was stated by Ema, is kind-hearted of nature, and may be there to help coax him through things.
On the same front, Miles, though overconfident and socially awkward, was very strong of will and stable, where as, under Gant, Lana had seen a bit of a lessening of strength and will. Both are still insatiably stubborn, but just thinking of Miles try to ask the chief for help when he can hardly have a normal conversation and is so full of himself? ADORABLE.
So yeah, this is my major otp.

From my POV there is no way Miles would have been quite as shocked in 1-5 as he was (at several occasions) if there wasn't something going on behind the scenes with him and the Chief Prosecutor. Yes the whole evidence thing, but.. there were some times... I was like "lolwat, why did he react to that, it was directed at Ms. Sky.. OH MAN THEY'RE TOGETHER"
And since that my head cannon has had a field day.

haha I find all pairings to be interesting if they are constructed well enough, but I still prefer ones that I think work best in the given storyline, and since they leave most characters open, the fandom just goes nuts.
The only pairing I TRUELY don't ... like.. at... all.. Is MilesxFranny... they were raised together, they are practically siblings.. that.. just... seems off to me... on a large scale...

I am completely aware that the games will never officially or formally announce ANY pairings ever, unless those pairings are pre-established before a characters introduction (with the potential exception of Gumshoe, but it is quite possible that his pairing was thought of in advanced, but only came to fruition in the second game), for instance Ron and Desiree Delight.
More precisely, they wont assert pairings of their main characters, PRECISELY because they do not want to exclude the possibilities and interpretation that their rather diverse fandom has created or developed(IE the shipping spectrum of raving fans... like me, I guess).
I know all of this, and I wasn't trying to state "this is the one true pair, love it or get out" I was just being excitable.. cause... that's kinda how I roll >_>.. Crazy and loud and full of energy... YUP.. HAHA I am okay with all pairings, in fact my friend is a SUPER MayaxMiles shipper and we come up with all sorts of possibilities for them - especially since Larry is married to Franzy in her head-cannon >_> LARRY FRANNY IS THE MOST HILARIOUS THING EVER IT IS AWESOME XD XD XD <_< that was me just being excitable again, but seriously, LarryxFran is hilarious. Of course. As long as there are fictional characters, there will be ships. Trying to get between fans and their preferred pairings is like trying to keep a river dammed up without there being any sort of spillway in the dam.
I tend to yield to canon when it contradicts my preferred pairing, though that has its limits, too. Specifically, since I write fan fiction and prefer to stay true to the original series's continuity, any games released after I begin writing might contradict my story. As such, my policy is that once I start a fan fiction, any games released after I begin the story are disregarded. For example, if it's revealed in a later game that Miles married someone other than Lana, or that he married her at a later time than he will in my story, or just plain never married, that's ignored by the story, but acknowledged when I'm discussing the original series.
Admittedly, though, my "yield to canon" policy might change if a pairing I really don't like becomes official, though I consider it unlikely that any official pairing would ever push me that far.

I pretty much agree wholeheartedly with everything you just typed. I love my pairings, and will always kinda lean towards them, but dabbling in others, or at least accepting others, is something I do anyway. I used to write fics, back when I had more time (a thing that I must admit, I greatly miss), and even then I'd read other stories that didn't utilize my favorite pairings or character traits, either because the story was JUST THAT WELL WRITTEN (or the art JUST THAT WELL DRAWN) or just out of curiosity. And there are some things that I accept, or tolerate, even when I dont believe that specific character will actually do, swing, or act that way, but hey, everyone has their own take on stuff, so lets all run with it, right? And besides, it makes being a fan of something JUST THAT MORE FUN, doesnt it?
And yeah, with the fics, I was the same way, if subsequent games/novels/shows came out after my published art or story (and that art or story was still ongoing) I would continue with it as if nothing changed, but then accept the new information/release as truth on anything outside of my story. Example? In PW:AA I thought that Gumshoe was closet gay for Edgeworth, but that Edgeworth was so busy with work, and either too straight or just not-plain-interested in relationships and never noticed (or ignored it). Then Maggey came in, and while I was still working on some things at the time, once they were done, I accepted the Maggey/Gumshoe in subsequent works. Though ya gotta admit, Gumshoe SUPER looks up to Miles, it's a bit ...interesting. haha aah Gumshoe <3
And I hope no pairings that you, I or anyone don't like becomes cannon 0_0, but at the same time, you cant keep everyone happy.. There is bound to be something that upsets some of us, eventually... OR MAYBE CAPCOM IS SO AWESOME THAT THAT WONT HAPPEN? AND THEY WILL SOMEHOW SATE US ALL???...

haha, in my head both of them are very sheltered, but also very straight. I would see either of them choosing no one, before anyone, but if they chose anyone I think it would be of the opposite gender. I also think they have a lot in common, and that may build up a relationship (creepy evil mentor/bosses, dark past, ya know, social shortcomings, all the good things - well, and being damned good prosecutors)
