I didn't draw initial sketch for this one. I roughly finished sketching the merman to establish shadowed area using cross hatching. This is going to be quite dark (tone) when it's finished.

This is looking wonderful! And I think you have done a great job in the problem hip area as well. He does not look at all feminine. Yea! I can't wait to see this one completed. It's so rare to find a good Merman image! Wonderful job Mayumi!

Aww, thank you, Kat I know, there aren't many merman art compare to mermaid art. I've tired drawing a merman a few times, but they always turned out to look oddly feminine around the hips due to the natural curve of the fish tale. I think this is working out. I'm having quite fun drawing this. He he he
