The tinted paper really gives this piece that special oompf! I especially like the sunflowers.

I like how white looks on tinted paper. I think I need to use a little lighter colour paper or use charcoal for instead of a pencil, though. I'll try that sometime. Always fun to try something new

Yes, if the darker areas were slightly darker it certainly would make it pop even more, but I like the softness with it being the way it is now.

Thank you I like the texture as well as the colour of this paper. Though, I would love to find drawing paper a little lighter than this, just enough tint for the whites to have the same effect.

Thank you, Maria. I really like the result but I wish the colour of the paper was a bit lighter. I would love to find drawing paper that's not so dark but has just enough tint to show white beautifully. Do you know any?

Hmm, I've used this: [link] and this: [link] . Both are good. I like the lightest shades like Cream and Honey, though I've also used Light Blue Gray. Fabriano is a little thicker, but texture is about the same.

Thank you so much for the links, Maria. I've looked at Canson Mi-Teintes many times. I found the texture was a little too much for me so I've never purchased it, but I didn't realize the paper has smoother side on the back that can be used! I'm going to purchase it next time when I go art supply shopping.

If you can't handle lots of texture then Fabriano is definitely better, but the downside is it only comes in large sheets that you have to cut.

I've never seen Fabriano at art supply stores I go to. Maybe it's just I haven't noticed it I will definitely look around next time. Hehe, looking around at art store is dangerous thing to do, though... you end up purchasing more than what you have on your list
