Description

This was created for my D&D campaign, The Sapphire Heart. This monolithic tree, nearly 550 ft tall, was created from a dark artifact, the sword Obsidian Rose. It raised undead creatures in order to attack the Ether kingdom, home of the elves. Its purpose: to fuel an army of the abyss to cause chaos throughout Veneria. The party sought to fight to destroy it, but ultimately failed. The Abyss tree was the final boss of the campaign, unfortunately this art wasn't able to be finished in time. The rendering ended up taking far longer than anticipated due to the many intricate details of the tree itself and its background.
