Man, I've been so busy lately, I feel like a total tool for not responding to comments, and at the rate its going I'm not going to be for a while yet.I can, however, share this piece I did at the Illustration Master Class, and I'm pretty happy with it. Just another step forward in the journey of art.

Outstanding! I am really grooving the dark steel and pink glow of the witch-construct! She's horribly terrifying in difference to Dorothy's pastel innocence. Great work!

yeh once again love the colors and lighting. Each of the characters are popping out. The effect of the rim lights on both the girl, the behemoth and it's head are great. I also dig the textures of the skin, cloth and metals.
strong comp too. everything rising up is nice.
chic needs more points in spot and listen. Critical fail to let a huge metallic and flaming monster sneak up on you. unless theyre buddies
anyways, peace crazy work.

Whoa, this is fabulous. There's so much to love about this piece. The palette is really unusual, with that bright purple & orange setting off the neutral-colored subject -- which seems to speak to the character, a plain(ish) girl surrounded by fantastic stuff. Plus the detailing on the characters is excellent: I love the gizmos on the Tin Man and the textiles on Dorothy, and that oily fire coming off the top is great. Good subtle use of rim lights to add definition, too.

Thanks, yeah those rimlights are bordering on overuse i think, at least that's what a trusted source told me, and I might agree. I certainly had fun, and it was a learning experience to boot!

Hey man, yeah it was a (loose) interpretation of the Wicked Witch of the West and Dorothy. The walk yields some good stuff for all of us if we stay on track, man!
