Mine Entry for the sci fi contest.I had so much trouble to render this render ;_;
But my com managed it.
Before people are going to ask what's that that comes out of the sun.
Its a Ring of the planet where you standing on.
And I really didn't had any ideas left anymore, because I'm in a little art block T_T
anyway Wp pack is up also.

Given some projections it has been estimated that there may be a few hundred million civilization per galaxy, this is just civilizations, not all the intelligent life or life in general or all the habitable planets just technology. Some have guess the universe may be many orders of magnetude larger than the known universe, that means there could be as many or many times more galaxies in the universe than there are atoms in the known universe. Imagine what entire populations of intelligent beings might think anyway thaks.

everybody's so wowed by the planets, but it's the landscape that's the hard part! the planets take a few minutes in photoshop if you've got a good stock photo.
But really good job on everything!
Did you use a stock photo, create the planet in Vue, or create the planet in photoshop?

I got a few textures from and made the planets out of it.
Had to color them though.
But yes the landscape was harder.

Impressive! My planets always look terrible, so I take an Earth photo and use liquify and some noise filters. When you tone down the opacity, people can't really tell.

Man if you could write a tutorial on how you Texture those planets it would be awesome, It's the most realistic i've seen so far.
