Description Day 11 of AtroxC’s #toonjune Contest:Adapt A Character In The Style of The Golden Age of Animation
This 40's-50's Incarnation of Calvin is the same as his 30's version,But more wisecracking and smarter than ever. Not Calvin would defeat villians,But he would outsmart and fool Dastardly Canines or mischivous mice by whopping them on the head. he would also have everyman roles(much like Mickey Mouse,Donald Duck,or Elmer Fudd)such as a mouse exterminator,a crazy salesman,a fisherman,a detective,or a rival competing with a another cat for Mirinda's affection. Sometimes,he would stop for a second and break the fourth wall by making a satiral quote to the audience. Calvin's Golden era design was based on Katnip(From The 50's Paramount"Herman & Katnip Cartoons)only this time i added a more Sylvester/Tom feel to it and his outfit(The vest, the bow tie,and the white sleeves)was based on Danny's in Cat's Don't Dance, since the movie takes place in 1939.

Hmm. Calvin reminds me of Kyle from Tom and Jerry kids.
