Hehe...I figured it should be the quiet one that gets the last laugh (Iori doesn't count because, though he loosened up, he still wouldn't play a prank like that).
I was going to have him working with Koushirou at first, but...eh, decided to have it just as Ken's idea (or maybe it was Wormmon's).

The funniest of the lot.
Do you know about positrion cannon on youtube? His live journal has a rather entertaining clip from the show, featuring Iori.

Haven't heard of it...granted, Iori isn't my favorite of them.
Takeru has always been my favorite since the original Adventure...then Ken, once he turned good again.

He hosts more accurate fansubs of the series than the official ones, which happen to be the best I can get here in the UK.
I really like Takeru, but I haven't gotten far enough in to 02 to see how much I like good Ken. Though he does have a nice voice.

Ohh...I have a link to some videos on Youtube for 02 subs...could be that one.
Romi Paku does the voice for Ken...she's one of my favorite voice actors (she often voices "young genius" characters). I usually dun pay attention to the voice actor since it takes away from the "world" created by the anime, but Romi Paku is just amazing.
She also did Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist (and Brotherhood), and a bunch of other characters.
She and Megumi Hayashibara are my fav voice actors, along with Akira Ishida.

Perhaps. If it isn't the fan sub that calls "Petite Thunder" something like "Puchi Thunder/Sanda" then it is.
*Looks up those voice actors*:
Well, Ken was the first character I've ever heard played by Romi Paku, but it seems I'd already heard the other two. Megumi Hayashibara in Slayers and Akira Ishida in Mai/My HiME!
Now I have another reason to watch Fullmetal Alchemist.

Another Slayers fan! Whoot!
Barely anyone seems to know of the series, so I get like that whenever I hear of it.
XD
The dub isn't too bad (it's the only anime I've seen where the dub is decent), but the sub is awesome for Slayers due to Megumi Hayashibara as Lina and Akira Ishida as Xellos.
My two favorite characters.
^w^
It's one of the only animes where I actually like the lead character more than most of the supporting cast.
Megumi Hayashibara also did Ranma's female side in Ranma 1/2, Anna in Shaman King, Haibara in Detective Conan...and songs, too. She did most of the opening/ending songs for Slayers as well.
^w^
And Akira Ishida also did Hakkai in Saiyuki. ^w^
If you're gonna watch FMA, I suggest Brotherhood rather than the first animation. It follows the manga a LOT more closely.

Really? I thought it was quite popular. I did learn the term anime from a Slayers fan site after all, and NEO magazine did a huge feature on it a couple of years ago.
I've seen about five seconds of the dub. It was enough for me. Dub Lina just didn't have a voice I liked.
Well, I've got a huge list of things to watch, so I probably won't get to it soon.

Hmm... maybe it varies. My boyfriend was a fan of the series before he met me, and he wasn't really into anime.
Well, those costumes are complex...
It probably was because I was used to the sub, so the dub was a bit of a shock.
I haven't seen that.

Ahh...I was introduced to the series by a friend of mine (back when she lived near me, at least) in the 90's.
It was a rented VHS (since that was back in the day when folks actually went to places like Blockbuster to rent anime from their tiny, yet growing, section)...so, it was the dub.
Thus, the first one I ever saw was the dub. It wasn't until quite a while later that I got to see the sub.

It's kinda weird to think that, around the time I got into anime, you had to buy two sets of tapes if you wanted to see something dubbed and subbed.

mdchan In reply to icecheetah [2010-04-13 16:18:23 +0000 UTC]
Yep...that's what it was like.
For me, though...back then, since I was a minor, I got an allowance...and I didn't get enough to buy both, so it was either sub or dub (pretty much, it was whichever version the store carried that I was lucky enough to get).

Even if I got pocket money at the time, I doubt I would have been able to spend it on that. I think the nearest video shop was a 3 hour ride away.

Ouchers. >.<
It was only a 10 minute ride where I was...though, back then, the question was if someone would take me or not.
XD
Good thing for internet ordering these days. The selection (and prices) at the closest video store now (bout 20 mins away) are awful.

Heh, I was used to it. Almost all the big shops were at the end of that bus ride, so when I did go there, Mum and I would probably have gotten suitcases full of stuff.
Heh!
Yeah, good thing, though HMV tends to be quite cheap these days (if a DVD is old enough, it might just cost £3), and it seems so easy for other people to buy me bootlegs online.
