For the contest over at ; I need to practice dynamic poses, and I figured I might as well enter the contest while I'm at it.I like how Daisuke came out...Ken, not so much (he's a little short).
The background was a PAIN IN THE ASS!! I failed so hard at it...I think I spent the normal 1.5 hours coloring Daisuke and Ken, and then about 2-3 hours on the background (no joke). Getting snow sprays was really difficult.
I did have a drawn background in there, but I erased it and went with a blank canvas in Photoshop.
It's not horrible for my first real attempt at getting snow sprays, but it's not that great, either. I can't tell you how many times I discarded the background layer.
I was about to go looking for a tutorial, but I really wanted to figure it out on my own (as frustrating as it was).

You're right; Ken is one of the tallest of the kids, actually. When I started to draw it, I kept thinking "well, he's crouching down closer to the board than Daisuke is", but he still turned out a little short. XD
