I think the Alpha Trooper is one of the coolest models Nerf has released this year. So here we have another Alpha Trooper Mod inspired by the upcoming COD Black Ops game. It is quite similar to my previous Alpha Trooper Mod but I felt I could do just a bit better. I went with a jet black matte finish with chrome details. Added the barrel extension/silencer and mounted a functioning Red dot sight on top.Available on Ebay:

That's an Alpha Trooper? Hmmm. Am not all that impressed, must admit. Looks just like an Recon, but somewhat longer.

how did you mod the sight to fit the tac rail? I want to do the same to mine but was unsure how to go about it.

The nerf rails are slightly wider than stock rails on real guns. Simply narrow a spot down with an exacto knife.

What level of quality of paint do you use for these?

The kind that goes from wet to dry...? But seriously, I use Krylon spray paints and Acrylic Paints for brush work. Then coat it with combinations of Gloss and Matte finish to protect it and give appropriate material the proper sheen.

Awesome, same technique I use. I do a lot of body & lighting mods in addition to painting, so my projects take a long time with a lot of investment, but hopefully I'll have stuff up soon. We have a very similar style by the way.

Absolutely. Most of them I mod to shoot further as well. What would be the point if you couldn't still rain orange foam hellfire down on someone. Ha!
