Hello! Well, I cut the silhouette out of a piece of poplar wood, used a band sander to sand the blade down to points, then used apoxy sculpt to add the layers and details onto the blade and handguard

who cares what show it's from? it's still a excellent blade. this sword is so sleek and easy to handle, i can see it now, in my mind how it can cut and slice through pretty much anything and summon lightning elementals and it's special attack brings lightning down upon my enemies. IT IS A TRULY BEAUTIFUL SIGHT!!!

This a beautiful work. Is this full tang or did you work on the blade and handle separately?

Ah, thank you! Well, technically it's full tang. The entire sword is made from a piece of wood, and the 'hand guard' has a small skeleton version of itself. When I got the shape of the blade and handle down, I made the exoskeleton look with layers of paper clay. Paper clay is amazing, it's strong, doesn't crack too often, and you don't have to warm it. Plus, when it dried, when you layer oil-based polyurethane on it, it gets this smooth, shiny finish that feels very ceramic.

I was curious about the paper clay, never heard of it before but it sounds incredibly useful. Very nicely done, thanks for the info.

How much time did you spend on this and what was the cost of this project?Did you use any really specific tools for it?

Well, I was working on several different projects at the time, but I think it basically took three weeks on and off, materials I think were about $40 for caulking, wood, paper clay, the jewels, and saw bands. Tools were a jigsaw to cut it out, a rasp to make the angle of the blade, and a dremmel with a wood carver bit to make the designs in the middle of the blade. Everything else was pretty basic, applied the paper clay with my fingers, painted it all with a brush and spray, and the caulking has it's own applicator. Are you working on a specific project? If you need advice I'll be happy to help!
