Description
This peculiar horned beetle is Notoxus monoceros, which belongs to the ant-like flower beetles. Their habitat is dry and sandy areas with patchy vegetation. And as is the case with other ant-like flower beetles they primarily feed on decaying plant matter, interestingly I have also seen them in substantial numbers harvesting cantharidin from dead oil beetles.
