The Gunmen, a simple name for the Administrations most feared operatives. These legendary soldiers are the absolute best the Administration has to offer. These commandos easily compete with their competitors in other factions. These warriors are sent only on missions of absolute priority to the Administration. The actions of this unit have decided the fate of nations.

The Gunmen are the pinnacle of the Administrations research into special forces units. The failed robot prototypes proved that machines were too stupid, and the Chameleon Specialists taught that while humans were superior to machines in thinking, there biological dependency was an inherent weakness. That's were the Gunmen program was born. The objective was simple, remove the psychical limitations of a human solider, while preserving the intelligence. Those selected from the chameleon specialists were the best of the best, each one was a living legend. They were listed as killed in action before going under the knife. Information is naturally rare, but it is said that out of 100 participants, no more than between 20 to 10 were successfully converted. Most died while undergoing surgery. Amongst the survivors many went mad, unable to handle being more machine than man. Those who were strong enough to withstand the physical and mental changes became the living war engines now held in near superstitious dread.

The conversion process is so extreme that many like it to mutilation. All of the limbs are removed and replaced by cybernetics. The legs are untiring steel, equipped with mechanisms to increase jump height and distance. The left arm is mostly a mechanical replication of a normal human arm. Aside from its increased strength, the arm also contain a energy launcher. This weapon is essentially a grenade launcher, but the grenade in question is an experimental plasma device. This weapon is a beast against light to medium armor, but struggles against heavy armor. The right arm is gone completely, replaced by a sort of gatling laser cannon. A terrifying weapons that can (literally) cut humans in half, and can threaten aircraft, although it struggles against armor. The torso is crammed with cybernetics and armor. Most of the internal organs are either replaced with synthetic versions or have been augmented to handle their enhanced physiology. The torso also houses an experimental power source. It not known exactly what this power source is, but it is known that this power source provides much of the Gunmans energy. Gunmen can move without the power source, but it does place a great deal of stress on the Gunman and performance suffers. The head contains many augmentations. The right eye is replaced by a multi-optic sensor that allows vision in many different ways. The jaw, while not removed, has an filtration system added to filter out poison gas and other airborne hazards. A small computer like device has also been installed into the cranium, to help regulate the cybernetics, as well as to allow interfacing with other machines via direct connection. All portions of the body are covered in an armor that makes them nearly immune to small arms fire, although vehicles will still chew through them.

The half-men/half-machines are nearly unstoppable on the battlefield. Despite that however, no new Gunmen are planned to be created. The technology that (literally) went into them is expensive, plus most die or go insane. The Gunmen program is still ongoing, but instead of creating new Gunmen, its focusing on making the process less lethal, and to try and see what can be sacrificed for mass production. Given their skill and rarity, most General's will never get to command one, or even see one. Only the director of special operations, who commands all Administration special forces, may command multiple Gunmen. When they are deployed, it is usually only a single Gunmen per campaign, and if the Gunmen is killed or incapacitated, the entire campaign will be paused for recovery. The Gunmen are just that good, just that important.
