Julie grew up in Northern Minnesota, burying herself in music to escape the bard parts of life. Then one day in high school she came upon a boy trying to pluck away at a song. She pulled the guitar out of his hands and played it the way it was supposed to be played. Jack fell in love that day, and convinced her to let him practice with her from then on. And then one day she showed him why she always wore long-sleeves. He helped her move out that day and waited until the bruises faded. Then he encouraged her to try out clothes that showed off her arms. A shoulder. Maybe two. And then there were her smiles.
