He actually has two names given to him, but Disney never officially uses them. In the 1971 "Wonderful World of Disney" live-action remake of the ball scene, his name is given as "Prince Otto August Ferdinand". In the parade of that year his name is given as "Alto August Ferdinand". He's referred to simply as"Charming" in media and merchandise. Disney occasionally calls him "Ferdinand". It's really weird. They did the same thing with Snow White's Prince. His name is likely Florian. The reasoning for this was to focus on the female characters.

Maybe because it kind of went with the tradition of the no name princes. I mean many of the princes don't have names up until a certain point in Disney history.
