This is Poe! Just a little WIP doodle that I wanted to post. He is a little half-goblin boy who has been running around inside my head lately.

His biological mother was the daughter of a noble family, who was attacked by a goblin band while traveling. To her family's horror, after the incident they found that she was pregnant. Fearing shame and scandal, they kept the pregnancy a secret and planned to kill the child when he was born. However when his mother delivered him, a household maid came to his rescue. She begged that she be allowed to take the baby and raise him. She was given permission, with the stipulation that she leave the estate forever and never reveal the child's origins. The maid agreed and kept her word. The maid named the baby boy Poe, and loved him fiercely in spite of his fey heritage.

Poe is a typical eight year old boy, with a few caveats...his skin is a pale sage color, his ears are pointed, he is older than he looks and he has very limited magical abilities. He can transform into a badger if he is angry or frightened, and he can naturally perform rudimentary curses and charms without training. (If a sorcerer or a mage ever chose to take him on as an apprentice, Poe could potentially become a powerful magic user.) Poe physically appears to be eight years old, but he is actually eleven. He ages slower than humans but faster than goblins. In terms of personality, Poe is a sweet-heart but he hides it by acting tough and causing trouble--because of his looks and his penchant for trouble, he has a hard time making friends. Poe wants to be good, but he lashes out if his feelings are hurt (and he is a bit sensitive). He is mischievous but he isn't mean-spirited. He feels a kinship with animals and can often be found near them. Poe wishes to become human. Poe has no idea that he is a member of a noble family, and believes the maid is his mother. He doesn't ask questions about his father. He knows that he is half goblin, and is embarrassed by this fact. He is extremely protective of his mother and gets into fights if other children say bad things of her.
