oh god. im scared. my cat went missing for three days and came back with a huge limp. she has trouble walking. the vet is closed... i have an appointment the 22nd

If there aren't any open wounds or signs of internal damage (aside from a sprain, fracture, etc.) I think your cat will be fine. Animals recovery relatively quickly and easily most of the time.

no problem... I'm not a vet, but I think the best thing you can do for her is make it so she doesn't have to walk far for her food and water (and litterbox if she has one - although you do have to keep that a little ways away from the food and water). Don't try to stop her from walking though because, while it may hurt her, it keeps her leg from getting stiff and the muscles from deteriorating. I have a dog whose leg was broken a couple years ago, and they never put a cast on it. Everyday she would walk around on it even though she kept falling over. However, that meant that the only part of her leg that had to heal was the bone; she didn't have any muscle loss, etc. that would have resulted from having a cast. Not that long after, you couldn't tell it was ever broken, and she runs faster than any of my other dogs. Animals instinctively know how to heal themselves. If they didn't, they wouldn't have survived before people kept them as pets, and they wouldn't survive without people when they don't have owners to take them to the vet.

Yeah i think its her hip cause she walks as if she was an old hip displaysia patient shes all scrunched up. She purrs like a soon to be euthanised cat. I think it hurts her :/ i cry just cause she seems in pain an my moms like jesus. Its JUST a cat.

3 legs? oh i saw that a few times in the shelter i worked, it isnt bad, except if theres an infection, and it could be bad if she licked the wound ;o

no, three days x3 she has her four legs, i beleive she's fallen from a tree. She's stable for the moment. I just hope the clinic will take ur tomorrow even if we dont have an appointment.
