After Lilja and Hinamori went missing for over a week, Lilja's mother hired the young detective Martha Rogers to locate her daughter. Realizing a missing persons case involving the heir to the Trevaine family would PROBABLY involve some unpleasant scraps, Martha decided to rope Miyuri Gozen into helpinf with her investigation. Because after all, NOTHING bad ever happens to Miyuri in these situations.

Combing through documents in Hinamori's office, Martha realized the pair had likely been taken to DayBreak City, as it was the home base of SynTech Corporation, who would have a vested interest in stopping Hinamori's business dealings.

Traveling to DayBreak City, the pair combed the western harbor, as Martha believed the girls would likely be held there. Hearing a van approaching, the pair ducked into one of the warehouses as a tall, slender woman emerged from the van.

As she did, the still bound Hinamori and Lilja were brought out, forced to walk into an adjacent warehouse. With their arms bound and mouths gagged, Martha knew there was no way to save them just yet, and she and Miyuri slunk behind some crates until the woman and her bodyguards departed.

Sneaking into the adjavent warehouse, Martha saw a non-descript van, likely her friends new temporary home. Miyuri watched the door as Martha fumbled with the lock. As she did, a nagging feeling gnawed at her: Why were the girls so easy to find? And now that she thought about it...WHY where they still being moved around the harbor a week after their abduction?

Unfortunately, the answer came quickly. As Martha threw open the door, no one was there. What WAS there was a thick, pink gas that quickly put the two snoops to sleep. The slender woman entered the warehouse with the still-captive Lilja beside her, and was eager to 'test' the merchandise...

Several hours passed, and Martha slowly stirred. She and Miyuri had been bound and gagged, sitting on the edge of the van she had opened earlier. Martha didn't remember what happened, but judging from Miyuri's expression, she knew it was her fault.

The woman let out a hearty laugh, pleased that the two snoops finally showed up. She admitted she wasn't quite expecting two snoops as famous as Martha and Miyuri, but that she knew Lady Trevaine would send SOMEONE after her brat. Miyuri yelled into her gag, demanding to know what the woman planned to do.

The woman cackled, mentioning how Martha, Miyuri and Lilja would be of great value to her. She explained that they would be part of a great experiment. Continuing to laugh, the woman warned the girls would understand by sunrise, and advised them to get a 'good' night's sleep. As she sealed the warehouse door, Martha let out a nervous sigh in Miyuri's direction. She had gotten into yet another tight spot, and worse, it seemed like anyone who could save her was already captured...
