Harmonia Hall was the biggest musical venue in SunRise City. Talented acts from all around came to perform there, a gathering place for lovers of classical music. But lately, the Hall had a reputation of a different kind, as numerous performers had suddenly disappeared mid-act, never to be found.

Martha Rogers was a detective, a clever girl with a talent for music. She had frequented Harmonia Hall several times, and heard about the various disappearances. Upon hearing the venue would close down because of the mysterious happenings, she volunteered her detective skills to help find the missing performers before her favorite venue was shuttered.

Entering the now-quarantined building, Martha examined every room. In her line of work, she knew that disappearances were easy to pull off: Hidden rooms, trap doors, disguised cars...there were all manner of ways to make someone disappear. However, despite three straight nights of searching, she couldn't find anything. She KNEW there must be something, but what was it?

As she conferred with the police and the Hall's director, Lady Kadencia, Martha noticed a couple threads of consistency: All of the kidnappings took place on stage, each performer vanishing when the lights went out. But HOW? She had found no secret passages, and the victims were obviously not carried out the door. It was almost as if....a lightbulb went off as Martha realized...maybe it wasn't so bizarre.

To confirm her theory, Martha went to visit her friend Sotiria. Explaining what she had found, Martha believed the victims may have been spirited away by magic, a conclusion Sotiria agreed with. Recruiting their friend Leah to help with their investigation, the trio returned to Harmonia Hall.

Martha was right on the money: Sotiria sensed powerful magic eminating throughout the Hall, with Leah noting it felt like 'Shifting' magic. Despite their discovery, however, it didn't solve the major question: HOW were these people grabbed, and by who? Realizing they had hit a dead end, Martha felt there was only one thing to do: Make sure the criminals went after HER to catch them in the act.

Convincing the police chief to reopen Harmonia Hall, the trio spread the word that Martha would be giving a performance, and set the stage for their trap. Playing on an old grand piano that one of Leah'a friends had provided, Martha would use herself as bait to lure out the kidnappers, with Leah and Sotiria waiting to ambush them. A great plan, the three ladies thought. After all, what could possibly go wrong?

As night fell, Martha greeted the audience, thanking them for attending and speaking of how grateful she was to give back to a place she treasured so deeply. As she began playing the piano, Leah and Sotiria hid behind the stage curtain with Lady Kadencia, waiting for the chance to grab the kidnapper...

Martha continued playing, waiting to spring her trap as the lights went out. As the audience panicked and scattered, Martha saw a woman trying to sneak up on her, and called for her friends to use their spells. However, she was met with silence, and the woman simply chuckled, and with a wave of her hand, Martha vanished...

The lights came back on with Lady Kadencia on stage, pleading with the crowd to calm down and return to their seats. Though Martha Rogers had vanished, Kadencia claimed she would want the show to continue, and vowed to finish the performance in her place.

Several minutes passed, and Martha slowly stirred. She could still hear the crowd, but it was a dim echo, as though she was separated from it by a wall. Suddenly, she realized she couldn't move. Her arms and legs had been bound, her mouth gagged. As she struggled, she saw Sotiria and Leah on both sides of her, all three bound up. This was it, Martha thought, she knew how the kidnapper struck! They must have used teleportation magic in order to...

Her thought process was interrupted by Leah's muffled scream, as she tried to tilt her head up as though she was trying to warn Martha. Martha looked up, and a pale expression ran across her face: The girls HAD in fact been teleported....INSIDE of the piano, their heads now resting beneath several of the keys. Worse, Martha could hear Kadencia take her seat, and knew she was about to begin playing.

That's when it hit her...Martha knew WHO the kidnapper was! It was Kadencia! She would use magic to seal her victims within their instruments, and secretly slip them out past the notice of the police! Martha had solved the case, but as several keys came down around her team, it was looking more and more like the Case of Harmonia Hall would be the swan song of her detective career...
