HNNNNNNNNNNNGGGG MY HEART!!I'm good...
Kay, ever since I saw the movie Logan WAAAY back in March... I looked at some of my earlier fan work based off my own head ideas and bits from the trailer... and I was happy with all... except one... this one --> www.deviantart.com/art/Hold-Onβ¦
I... thought I was happy with it but... now looking at it makes me CRINGE!
I think my issue was, I had it in my mind I wanted to try my hand at cell shading and I used Disney character references for colours... so, it came out way too bright and smooth looking... and even when I didn't know the context and weight of this moment, I knew I didn't do it justice just based on the TRAILER
So, I've been remaking it... utilizing better shading and MUCH better references... i.e. NOT Disney colours
I also ended up redoing it because the linework was trash and the way the hands were drawn were wrong... and just... everything was wrong with it
lolI gotta say, I am MUCH happier with this!

people have made that connection and I was thinking, 
"There's NO WAY they planned it; that HAD to be a coincidence"... but... this movie was written by the same guys who worked on The Wolverine... it was deliberate. They confirmed it... DANG YOU ALL!

OMG how amazing! this is even better then the first one! looks like it came right from the trailer! by the way you shouldn't criticize yourself for wanting to remake this one after the first time you did it. Trust me, plenty of times I had to re try writing poems and stories, because they didn't seem right the first time, or I was worried that it sounded too similar to something else, but trust me re tries with pieces is personal growth. It shows how much you care about your art, and how you want to showcase it in the best way that you can. That's awesome advice to keep in mind!

Oh damn, the improvement in this piece compared to your earlier one is very evident; idk how you do hands so freaking well, but I am absolutely ASTOUNDED!!

I... I am so happy with this... I used to SUCK at drawing hands; did everything I could to hide having to do them... but now, I dunno what happened; maybe I'm paying closer attention to detail or I'm taking my time... I legitimately think the original was merely a colouring experiment that just didn't work... like I said, I wanted to recreate a cell shading type thing using Disney colours 
Knock the other all you want, that's what I do
Whenever people are looking at my gallery and I see pics like that old one, I literally say, "Omg, don't even LOOK at that one; it's terrible. I've been meaning to redo it"
