D: Orpheus!!!! : D I love the sandman comics, and the orpheus character from there is really one of my favorites n__n

Well, Orpheus is above all and most importantly a real famous dude from Greek mythology... Didn't have Sandman in mind here. (I *love* how Gaiman incorporated the Orpheus myth into what I consider his best work to date - but to me, the Orpheus in Sandman has always been more important in terms of how he shaped Morpheus's fate... As a character, he doesn't appeal to me THAT much. In fact, I have always more appreciated Orpheus's story and its haunting, gory finale rather than Orpheus himself.)

yeah, i like orpheus in the comics because of how much love he showed and was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice... and later being able to change something in morpheus' unchanging character n__n it's just a pretty story even tho it has a bunch of very gory elements X)

I'm not much into this undying love thing, y'know... Ultimately, his inability to deal with the situation in a mature manner played a major part in bringing about the Kindly Ones chain of events. I love the tragedy of it all - but I am not able or even willing to relate to Orpheus's outlook. In the end, what he displayed was the ultimate selfishness. He wanted Euridice back so badly, that he wound up making a lot of very stupid choices. Silly, silly lad...

yes BUT, in his silly silly choice he made his father feel something unfelt before (when he returned to 'give him eternal rest'), and ultimately the only one he 'really' hurt was himself so he basically provided an interesting story n__n and the undying love is cuuuuuuuuuuuuute : D

Awesome. I love the colours and the texture on this. I love the way the colours, shapes and the facial expression in the work all complement each other - it all seems to be rising from the bleakness of the colours in the bottom half.

Your style really stands out on DA - very original and with such emotional depth. You should get a print account some time.

I definitely like it, though it's certainly a very haunting and in many ways horrific image. I like the semi-surrealistic tones to your work, which can be at once thought-provoking as well as simply intriguing for the brain. The flow of the hair is gorgeous, as well as the expression on the face, and the way that all the linework sort of decimates into an explosion of red and black is sort of satisfying -- a release, if you will. But also quite morbid.

Excellent stuff, and it's nice to see something different and interesting for a change. DA misses things such as this!

Holy fruits! I love this. I love the face of Orpheus, he's so beautiful but strangely grotesque. And the grungy, rusty look of the blood? Priceless. I have to fav this.
