Nice job on it. :3
I just recently get into using partial photograph, partial painting techniques, if the colors and the rendering is not controlled properly, it could turn into a mess, it's a good practice.

Using references is not a bad thing. Not many people are blessed with photographic memories to allow them to draw something as close to real life as possible.

I've been staring at this painting for a while now and I am just amazed that it was done in photoshop. How in the world did you get that texture and paint look??? It looks like it was done with real paint and brushes.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

meiwren In reply to yueki [2007-11-03 23:07:42 +0000 UTC]

ahaha, well I was using a lot of the photoshop brushes...this painting was mostly to test each of them since I've never really explored the potential of each of their brushes.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

yueki In reply to meiwren [2007-11-04 22:02:29 +0000 UTC]

That's ingenious and wonderful use of photoshop brushes
Really must have been a lot of work but you pulled it off very nicely.
Did you use brushes you made yourself or from somewhere? Sorry if I'm being too nosy I'm just mesmerized by your illustration.

BTW, very creative reference, lol

meiwren In reply to yueki [2007-11-04 22:48:10 +0000 UTC]

ahha, nope, I was just toying with CS2 brushes, I mustve touched on about 60 to 70 percent of their brushes. Some of them really helped to cut down my workload.
