Backstory:

Masami was born and raised in a flock of spearows and fearows, though she never quite felt like she belonged there. They were aggressive, and did not welcome outsiders. She didn’t feel free, despite their usual wandering from place to place as a group. But having nowhere else to go, she stayed with the flock for much of her life. However, one day while scavenging she heard music in the breeze, and followed it to find a traveling Pigeot musician named Hibiki. He told her stories of his travels, and eventually some stories of his past. Hibiki had been a royal entertainer at the Summer Palace some time ago, but had left to live his own life, free to play what he chose and to go where he wanted. Bonding over their similar urges for adventure and freedom, they started to meet eachother regularly, away from Masami’s flock. Before long, they fell for each other, and she fled the flock and joined him on his travels. They came to recognize this as an "unofficial marriage", and Masami took Hibiki's last name.

Some time later, Masami became pregnant, and they tried to find a safe place for her to give birth. Neither had a home, nor any family that was willing to help, and they were deep in the Autumn kingdom by the time they had realized their situation. Hibiki knew of one place they could go, but… It was too far away, and she was in no condition to travel there. So they stopped at a local village, hoping for the best, that the locals could help with the delivery. However, despite their better efforts, she died giving birth to the child. A beautiful Spearow boy. No matter how deep in mourning and depression he was, Hibiki fell in love with the child immediately. Nothing would stop him from raising him right, from taking care of him and giving him as much love as possible. This boy was named Shun, a name Masami was always fond of.

So raise the boy Hibiki did. Even at a young age, Shun was already on the road, traveling with his father and learning music. But somehow, despite constantly traveling and occasionally even battling dangerous wild pokemon, the boy was just… naturally lazy. He would ask his father to carry him well into his upper-toddler years, until he was just too big to be carried anymore. But his father didn’t mind. He appreciated having a more laid-back child, being a single father and all. And Hibiki himself was relaxed and laid back as well, so it all worked out. The bond they shared was extremely strong, even for father and son. Occasionally, they would visit places from Hibiki’s past, namely the palace he once worked at. He had a friend there, after all. Might as well go see him every now and then, bringing his son along.

Shun and his father continued living life this way for many years, both very happy and content with their little laid-back family. However, when Shun was 21, his father fell ill. Deathly ill. They went to the palace, Shun desperately begging the medics to take care of his father, to cure him. But alas, medicine has its limits, and Hibiki soon passed on, leaving Shun lost and alone. He stayed at the palace for quite some time, bonding especially closely with his father’s friend from long ago, Shiragiku Inoue. Eventually, though, he headed out on his own once more.

...well… kinda. While he is tempted by the surrounding nature, tempted to go exploring as he had all his life, for some reason he just… doesn’t, instead staying mostly in the town surrounding the palace. Technically, Shun is homeless, but he regularly returns to the palace and stays there as a freeloader welcomed guest. He still does travel every now and then, visiting neighboring kingdoms, but he never wanders very far or for very long. Whether this is simply due to his lazy nature, or for some other reason, well… only time will tell.

Trivia:
* Wears an Everstone necklace that keeps him from evolving, due to his family line naturally becoming more aggressive and moody after evolving into a Fearow. Despite the fact he’d be more powerful after evolving, he refuses to do so because of the risk of this personality change.
*This Everstone necklace belonged to his mother, and Shun has had it since he was a very young child.
*Main instruments are Shamisen and Shinobue, along with his own voice.
*Will often fall asleep in high up places such as tree branches or places you would never expect to find someone napping, such as a palace roof or the ground of a training field.
*His wings are too small to give him much flight ability, and he will usually just use them to lift him to higher ground before landing again. Can’t use them for travel.
*His hair is super messy and no amount of brushing will change that. ...so he just doesn’t.
*Makes great soup and tea. Makes... not so great everything else.
