Feb 15 2006 - I edited stuff. I like it better now. It's closer to what I originally envisioned.IT'S FINALLY FINISHED! It only took me 2 weeks...(Several sketch edits, had to draw the room seperately, did the linework and actually took FAST route for colouring, which took only 2 hours compared to my usual 5-6.) You have no idea how proud I am of this, despite all it's flaws. I can't draw backgrounds from odd angles to save my life, so the room turned out BETTER than I thought it would. SOOOO many things are missing, but the focus is 2D and Noodle. So ignore the room! XD I tried cell-style shading. Didn't turn out too badly once it was all put together, but along the way I hated it. XD
I can't help but find this so cute. Say it with me now! "Awwwwwww!"
What's going on, you ask? Well, poor Noodle had a bad dream, you see. 2D was asleep when she came in, which explains his slight 'bed head'. XD He comforted her until she fell asleep on him. Awww.

Scene:
2D sighs as he breathes out the smoke from his fag (UK term for cigarette), mindful to cast the smoke up and to the side instead of just straight out. It was another night where he wasn't sleeping. It was official. He had insomnia. The painkiller medication he took to deal with his migraines knocked him out after a few minutes and, unfortunately, he was still on his four-pills-a-day habit. Plus he had that damned nob Murdoc stealing pills just to get himself wasted. Which lead to the situation he was in now. Awake at two-bloody-a-bloody-m in the morning and sleep nowhere in sight with an empty orange bottle in the loo.
Snuffing out the fag in the ashtray on his nightstand, 2D shook his head and put his arm down across in front of him, now that he didn't have a hot fag to risk burning her with. His lil' luv' had snuck into his room and climbed into bed with him. It wasn't anything like what people probably thought. It wasn't anything romantic. At least, not on her end...as far as he was aware. She stopped at the door and explained she had a bad dream and, with a stutter, asked if she could come and sleep with him like she used to. He hadn't said anything. At the time, he was dealing with a migraine that half a bottle of Irish whiskey hadn't done a bloody thing to take the edge off of. Obviously, she thought he was fast asleep, though why it had taken her forever to walk over, snuff out his fag after taking a drag, toss out the empty bottle, come back, and climb into bed with him just puzzled him.
2D remembered how his lil' luv' had nightmares before. How she woke up shaking for hours and had no idea why or what they were about. He knew now, of course. Apparently, that doctor bloke hadn't gotten Noodle away fast enough, or maybe just in the nick'o'time, 'cause now she remembered seeing and hearing all her lil' sibs being...purged when that project that made them was scrapped. Now instead of waking up with a yelp and shakin' like a leaf, she tossed and turned before popping up like a jack-in-the-box screaming her lungs out before breaking down crying.
2D frowned, still able to feel her trembling, though it was a lot less than it was an hour ago. He hated it. All of it. Not her. He could never hate his lil' luv'. Quite the opposite in fact. He didn't think of a single soul he ever loved more than the Asian Axe Princess, his princess, asleep in his arms right now. Not even Paula. Bloody Hell, it was Noodle that helped him get over that scarlet tart. He still hated Murdoc's guts for what he did, but 2D was grateful to be rid of her. What he hated was that there was nothing he could do. He was happy Noodle remembered who she was, but now she was being tortured by that one bad one worse than before!
He wished he could help her. He wished he could do something to take her pain away so that he didn't feel like such a useless sod. Wished he could tell her how he really felt about her. At least it would give her something else to think about at night. Especially if she felt the same way about him. Or...maybe that was just wishful thinking on his part. He wasn't a smart bloke. He knew that. But he always knew his heart was in the right place. And his heart belonged to her. And she deserved to know that.
With a nod, if just to himself, 2D decided he would tell Noodle how he felt about her. Tell her how much he loved her, despite the years of difference in their ages. How she made him feel like he was actually worth something, was actually doing something with his life, leaving some kind of mark, other than just moving the dirt when he was put six feet under. He'd do it after they shot the El Manana Video they were planning to do tomorrow. She was the star of the video and he didn't want to go and distract her like that. He'd tell her afterwards. He just hoped she felt the same way about him that he did about her.
For now, 2D held Noodle a little closer, and whispered 'I love you, my lil' princess' in her ear, figuring it would be enough for now. And smiled as she mumbled in her sleep, held onto him a little tighter, and finally stopped shaking.
