I've never seen HHAW... yet! But yeah, Dr. Seuss books used to scare me so bad when I was little. They were beyond strange... but now I can accept his weirdness and pay homage to him.

Aw, I remember my first encounter w/ Dr.Seuss was when my aunt used to read "A fish out of water" to me as a little boy.

Now just dress her in the familiar Seuss "furry one-piece body-suit" and you've got yourself one... something.
From a technical standpoint your work is amazing and the pose is spot on. While the style is your own (not actually Seuss') I like the colouring, it's very vibrant and even if the feel of the piece is not specifically Seussian that grin is perfect... I can almost feel the mischief cooking behind those big green eyes. It's eerie.
