Description Watercolor - sorry about scan quality.

Before my deepest desire to be an artist had broken through, I tore a copy of this painting out of some magazine. I loved the style of the artist, but I don't remember his/her name. If anyone knows, please tell me.

I put this face in a folder I simply labeled "The Dream"...and then filed it away.

It wasn't until I was told I had terminal cancer, and a short time to live, that I allowed the dream to speak.

"But I'd always thought I would paint, someday."

That was the first thing that popped into my head as I read the radiology report which said my life was approaching an abrupt end.

"And now I have no someday..."

Much more was to happen before I could ever make my way to my first art class. Death, obviously, wasn't one of them. I am well past my expiration date now.

This is an old, and very poor quality copy of one of my first watercolor paintings. They were all of faces of women.

This one, and many others sold very quickly, for $75 each. I thought that was great.

There is an interesting story about the couple who bought this painting. They said she looked just like their daughter, who had been in theater... Like her in one of the costumes she had once worn.

Their daughter had died at a very young age of cancer, just a few months before I met them. I live in Florida and they were from Maine. It wasn't like I had a big exposure to the public. I never believed that was an accident. I told them I thought it was God's way of telling them that they mattered to Him.

And that she was safe now.

Thanks for taking a look.

This is so ethereal, and quite seductive.

Ooh, I'm loving the watercolor technique of this one! Great colors, and contrast!

Thank you. I respect your artistic eye. I've been on the fence for some time about what kind of work I want to do now.

I love so many things. If you don't believe me, take a look at my fave gallery.

I think I wandered through yours and discovered some new ones to fall in love with, along with your style.

I set my faves up in a filing system, to be able to keep up my wild collecting. I could continue to add new categories. And that doesn't count all the stuff I hang on to in my in-box.

I know it would be best to follow my own "muse"...

She would return me right back here, to this very one.

But I am grandly motivated by curiosity too. Wondering how all this other is done and wanting to try it out.

I have been buying the whole range of Sommerset magazines for years. So I adored your ArtTrader Magazine.

Your work is a treasure.

I consider myself fortunate to love something like art as much as I do. [addictive-compulsive urges are very content being a "junkie" for art]

I am thrilled with the chance to look at the boundless creativity around me here in dA, and the links out...

I'm kind of shy and all the "watchers" were such a surprise and kind of scary. Silly me.

I'm super social-girl, and super-shy-girl at the same time. Multiple personalities, only we know each other?

At least I can be honest with myself about this hang-up. So, now I have to comfort that inner child. Actually, probably other way around. My inner child is trying to help the "adult ego" get over it.

I do enjoy the attention, and most especially the feedback. I get the whole deal about page views and faves, etc.

I split off and created another site where I provide just stock. I've kept it kind of quiet over there. It is such fun, like fishing. I take crazy pictures and marvel at the things people can do with them. Plus the things that get attention. Like fishing. I can never predict what will gather attention.

Photography, especially like that -- they LIKE blury is a relaxing outlet of my creativity energy.

Ah, and I do kind of like words too. Guess you've noticed by now.

Grand to meet you.

I really love the story behind the sale. People see what they want to see in every image. It reminds me of Mary Pickford (silent movie actress). I always thought she was someone special. I love the watercolor...

This is a copy of an artist who did beautiful stuff.

And this is a poor copy of my rendering, but that original image was so very beautiful, it still carries through.

I'm hoping someone is going to recognize the style and tell me who painted it first.

hhhmmmm is starting to sound good
