I tried to make a pattern too by scanning a handmade drawing. I saved it as a small .jpg image and when I tile it I get a thin white line on the edges disturbing the color sequence. Is there any way to fix that in photoshop? :/

I've been trying for ten years to figure out how to do something like this. Now that you showed the way it looks so easy. Freaking genius. Thank you.

Cool that's good. And yeah, the guidelines thing is redundant really with the offset filter, though it's useful to know about as it's the old fashioned way when they only had paper!

Sometimes old fashioned is still the way to go. It all depends on what you're doing really.

Another way you can do this, I believe, is just to go to Filter > Other > Offset, type in each pixel box half the width/height of your image, and choose "Wrap Around" for Undefined Areas.

Yes - i realised that after another deviant pointed it out, so I re-did the tutorial on my blog [link] . I'll have to check out the wrap-around feature though - thanks
