DeviantArt's Community Christmas Tree Project 2020 has begun. neokeia first did this project back in 2005 called Fella's Christmas Tree Project . See that project in the links below:

Here is the ornament I made for it back then:

Feel free to try and find it in that image if you want to challenge yourself. I really wanted to participate in a project like this for many years now but no one else was bringing it back so finally last year, I decided upon myself to do it this year. I hope it will be successful. I spent a few weeks working on the trees and tried to get it done by late July because I had really wanted to do like Christmas in July theme but I wasn't able to do. At least I was able to coincide the start of this project with deviantART's 20th Birthday. #DA20thBirthday.

RULES

DEADLINE: December 23rd, 2020 — The deadline a couple of days before Christmas. I may need the extra time to add any last minute submissions in case I get a lot of them.

POST DATE: December 24th or 25th, 2020 — I will try to have the final image posted on December 24th or 25th. If there is a delay, I will notifying everyone publicly.

BE ORIGINAL: All material in your ornament must be original and made by you. Fan art is allowed but no using screencaps of copyrighted material. Anything like that will not be accepted. Your ornament can be made traditionally, digitally, photographed, etc. I think pretty well any type of media will be accepted except for literature. If you wish to take that route, it will be allowed if it is done in some way that is traditional or digital. An example is quoting a lyric from a song.

LIMIT OF 1: You may only submit one ornament. This will be the limit for now as I'm expecting to get a lot of submissions and I won't have time to add multiple submissions by one person. However, if I don't get many submissions in the next few weeks, I will consider increasing the limit. Also, if two people want to collaboration on making an ornament together, that will be allowed but it still can only be one ornament shared by two people.

STATIC: Your ornament must be a static and not animated. The final image will be static so I cannot add any animated images to it.

TRANSPARENCY: Please be sure that your ornament is on a transparent background. That will make it easy for me to add it to a tree. Any ornaments with a coloured background most likely will not be accepted. I can try erasing a background with a solid colour and making it transparent but I don't know if I will have time to do that with every submission I get so no guarantee that I will do that.

SIZE: 50x50 pixels or 100x100 pixels or 50x100 pixels. I will except only those three sizes and the 50x100 can be portrait or landscape if your ornament needs more space in like a rectangle size. If your submission does not meet those size requirements, I will be forced to resize it accordingly. If you don't know pixel sizes, here are the measurements that are equivalent in inches and centimeters: 0.017x0.017 inches or 0.033x0.033 inches or 0.017x0.033 inches / 0.042x0.042 centimeters or 0.085x0.085 centimeters or 0.042x0.085 centimeters

TAGGING: Be sure to include the tag #ChristmasTreeProject2020 in your submission. That way it will be easier for me to keep track of the submissions for this project. When the project is done though, I will not be able to list everyone who submitted an ornament. Be sure to look for your ornament in the final image and contact me if you need help finding it.
