Chapter 3: Feelings
    Korra couldn't believe she was about to do this. Was she really going to tell the toughest women she knew her problems? It just didn't make sense to her, but then again, she trusted Lin completely. After Lin had saved her life, and risked her life to save the last airbenders, she had a new found respect for the Chief of Police, and she knew if she or anyone else had a problem, Lin would be right there to help.

Korra shivered, but it wasn't because of the wind, softly blowing in her face. The breeze should have been calming, but Korra thought she heard a whisper….. "I'm saving you for last", it said.  Ever since she defeated Amon she always felt nervous and scared, and she didn't know why. Korra had always been tough, she was never afraid of anything…so why now-

"You okay kid?" Lin said finally. Korra jumped slightly, she had almost forgotten Lin was there.

Korra took a deep breath and started to talk "……Lin, have you ever felt scared..?"

Lin stared across at the lake, the moon light reflecting across it like her mother's eyes "….Why do you ask?"

"Well , cause……I think I am" Korra said, barely loud enough for Lin to hear, she kind of hoped she didn't.

Lin had always thought this girl was as tough as nails, but she always had a feeling that Korra was scared, and she knew why.
"It's Amon, isn't it?" Lin said with a caring tone.

Korra's eyes widened, she turned to face Lin. "How'd you know?"

Lin took a deep breath, "I know because, well,  ..…when he took my bending away, I was scared too, I was scared that I lost the one thing that I had left of my mother. And it was always a reminder of how I failed to-" Lin cut off and shook her head ."…. Korra listen, he's gone now, and you don't have to be scared anymore, he's a scar of the past now, and he's not going to be anywhere in your future"

Korra stared at Lin. She never even thought about what Lin had felt when her bending was taken away. Lin felt the same pain and fear that she did, probably even worse. 'And it was always a reminder of how I failed to…'  "failed to what?" Korra thought.

"Something's bothering you too Lin, I just spilled my feelings, now it's your turn" Korra said, staring off into the lake.
