Description Gift for Gunboy, long over due. And it's kinda not my best work. Looks a lot better in thumbnail than fullsize. I think I'm going to have to muck around with his face and feet some more.

I like this, however, the pose is sort of stiff and the top of the painting looks abit more finished than the bottom half. Not you best work or your usual stuff, but still a pretty sweet gift...

Really, I like how the feet look like they're fading away.... It makes the boy look sort of ghostly. Fits the mood of the picture. Definitely not your usual style, but I like the dark muddiness of this.

oooh.
ooooooooh.
god, that looks so sad. that's exactly the way i saw the sky in my head...that low stripe of flat colour along the horizon. i like the way it doesn't extend aaallll the way across the paper; cut off like that it's way more interesting. and poor tommy...but there's that little stroke of gold along his keft side...

I love the stripe of the sunset. I keep thinking how this would look as an embroidery, in grey threads with the sunset a contrasting blaze of metallics.
I've been working on a lot of that lately.

I've been trying to muck around in watercolors in my free time these past few days
most experiments turn out total failures... but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it...

I'm sure you get this question all the time... but...
about how did it take you to get halfway decent with them?
oor... how long have you worked with watercolors?

I disagree with the sentiment that it looks better as a thumbnail--you can't see the tiny gleam of sunset reflected on the figure's hood and shoulder in the thumbnail.

Brilliant as always, M.
