Great narrative in this work. The colors keep it all together but the composition and the expression on both character's faces (particularly his) add layers of depth. I keep wondering exactly what he's thinking, and expecting some sort of comic series to explain it.
I also wonder what poem you illustrated, and whether you could post it.
Congrats, and keep up the nice work.

Just because I'm a curious person... What poem was this based on?

Cool. Very Nice. Sharpies can give off a intense and rush feeling. Sense Sharpies are one time application with a less likely chance of fixing(white-out) it's a good way to level up on dexterity, but this is nice~.
While consistency is grand, when it comes to taking it from real life there is a illusion of it. For all I know, there could be a car in the opposite lane about to pass by the car so the headlights of that car are making his jaw seem shades lighter.

I really like the colors and expression of the faces. The color of the jaw doesn't disturbs me, I rather like the way it seems the sun comes through the windows and lights some parts of the face.
