Description Yes! A member of the light court of the sidhe, this one is one of the personal ceremonial guardsman of the Light fairy court, sworn to guarding the queen! That is a tacking pin he bears as a weapon.. for steel is rather hard to find in nature, and the guards appropriate human cast-offs and nicked-items as their weapons.

----

Been working on this 'old-school-style' painting for a while. It's digital, airbrushed in photoshop. I wanted to create a Bouguereau-esque fairy painting.

Gorgeous. I love those moth wings he has! The pin as a makeshift sword is a great idea too 83

Does he tip his acorn hat to the Queen while in her presence? ;D lol

Haha how sweet! Well it's strapped on so maybe a little hard to tip but probably, if in audience, he would take it off for sure!

I love the lighting in this. It's all very evocative of the Victorian era... very cool.

*is awesome*

I love the helmet the best. For some reason, it totally sells the whole thing. Such attention to wearability and detail. I love you.

Yay!

Well if I had to look at it and redo it, I wouldn't do the walnut shield the way I did because it's an illogical way to slice a walnut.. though it makes it obvious that it's a walnut this way, it also makes for a weak shield with that splice line running through it! It should've been the other way eeek!

Well, I think it's lovely, and that the splice line in the walnut gives the shield some character.

Is that a walnut shell shield? I love it. That's totally something I'd give one of my sculptures.

I think in the end, he's more like the swiss guard is to the pope, like a fancy intelligence, rather than brute force.
